Unedited working document. Published as Matthew wrote it: a working document, so it reads like planning — notes to himself, ideas still being argued over, and a few sentences that stop mid-thought.

Spoilers. This gives away the whole story — its twists and its endings.

This is an alternative world to the aragon or reality 151

This is set in Omen’s dimension 918 where ragna lost because he never existed (as a hero that is) as omen was ragna in this version

Now the 7 titans rules over Aragon or renamed to vornath with their families.

The Vael family

The sin of pride. The family is defined by their vast power and arrogance towards life and death itself. Often tempting fights knowing that they will always win due to their immense magical power. They are the main rulers of Vornath. They are known throughout the lands as a proud family that shows no mercy to enemies or allies alike that look down upon the family. They live at the pinnacle of Vornath’s tallest mountain Kouranos. Their insignia is that of a Valstrian, a massive ancient dragon that used to rule the mountains of Kouranos that required the 7 sins together to defeat it. The skeleton of the dragon became the throne that the Vael family sits upon and the skull of the dragon is displayed on top of the throne. The defining power of the family is their ability to manipulate light and shadows.

The Valreth family

The sin of greed. The family is defined by their seemingly endless wealth. Considered the biggest patron to all of the families, supporting basically all 7 sins with weapons, man power, and money. They are known throughout the land to have lavish parties and the biggest mansion even bigger than the Vael family (which says alot about the Valreth family). Their insignia is that of a Mindus, a massive black crow. Their defining power is their ability to control earthly minerals like gold, diamonds, any and all metals.

The Invidus family

The sin of envy. The family is defined by their elusiveness. Honestly, they very rarely appear in the house of veritas (the place where the 7 sins heads come to meet each other once a year). They are known throughout the land to hold vast amounts of ancient and forbidden knowledge. With hundreds of libraries and runes in their store, they hold some of Vornath’s oldest and most powerful weapons. Their insignia is that of a hydra. Their defining power is their ability to create and secrete powerful blasts of poison, ranging from mists to full on acidic streams that can melt even the toughest of armors

The Valdris family

The sin of wrath. The family is defined by their ever constant war on neighboring kingdoms to expand their territory even more. They are notorious for their endless rivalry against the Vael family, always fighting for more territory against the Vael family. Their insignia is that of a stygian, a massive wolf that was supposedly an ancient apex predator that fought against the Valstrians for food. Their defining power is their ability to control fire and their pure brute strength that is unchallenged only being surpassed by a Vael.

The Vane family

The sin of lust. Their family is defined by their underground influence in Vornath with rumors suggesting their area of control is larger than the Vael’s, at least underground that is. They are notorious for their manipulative schemes and are the most cunning amongst the 7 sins. Their insignia is that of a viper. Their defining power is their ability to seemingly mind control anyone with a single glance.

The Lethis family

The sin of sloth. Their family is defined by…nothing. Literally nothing. They have no mansion. No known territory. Nothing. Their insignia is that of the bear. Their defining power is the ability put anyone into a deep dream where the Lethis family can control their dreams, making dream feeling like reality and reality becoming a dream

The Voren family

The sin of gluttony. Their family is defined by their vile nature even amongst the 7 sins. They will devour all things and make pleasure out of suffering of their prey. Their “mansion” really is a castle made of bones from large whales and all the things they eat. Their insignia is that of a locust. Their defining power is their ability to literally eat anything and everything and taking on traits of those they devour and heal injuries from those things they eat. And when i say they can eat anything, they can literally eat ANYTHING even attacks.

The Macabre Hymn

A hymn that the slaves would often hum and sing as it refers to the prophecy that was told during the warring era of the titans and the old world. (Yes this is the same prophecy that 151 had but it never came true. Just yet that is). This gives the slaves hope that one day someone all mighty will save them and return Vornath to Aragon in all its glory and lush green lands.

Shintsumi form or Elder form

These forms are the true forms of the 7 sins with each form resembling their insignia. As a matter of fact shintsumi translated in japanese literally means ‘true sin’ so thus true sin form.

(fun fact: each sin always have black and another color that usually signifies their sin as their primary color!)

Vael - a massive black and white dragon that is said to control the very heavens itself with its roar and a can open hell itself with a slap of its tail

Valreth - a massive black Phoenix that is capable of terraforming the skies with its gold wing beats and its claws as black as night

Invidus - a massive black hydra with 100 green heads that instantly grows back when chopped off with acid so potent that a single whiff of it can mean death

Valdris - a massive black wolf with skin black as charcoal and red fur that is literally on fire. With a single howl, it can decimate the land with fire

Vane - a massive black scaled and pink eyed viper that can turn anything into stone with a single glance

Lethis - a massive black and blue bear that can put the entire world into sleep

Voren - a massive black and yellow locust with hundreds of arms and a mouth full of teeth that can such things in like a black hole

Characters

Ren Altus Vael

The only son of the Vael family. Arrogant and hotheaded, he likes to run rampant on the mountain of Kouranos and play with his powers. He loves to flaunt them and shoot massive beams into the skies and admire his own powers. However, after the downfall of his family he was blasted off of the mountain and all of his powers went into saving his life, he couldn’t use his powers anymore for some strange reason. Altus at the beginning couldn’t fathom being friends with such a fragile being like Wren but over time, deep down he began to see him as a friend. Altus’s father doesn’t spend time with Altus, his mother is basically non-existent, and he is forbidden to leave the mountain until he turns 20 (currently he’s 15)

Wren

The servant of the Vael family and personally served by Altus’s side. Shy and hesitant, despite being a servant, he sees Altus as his only friend. After being blasted off the mountain side with Altus, surprisingly he survived thanks to Altus’s powers saving them both. But what is strange that now Altus cannot use his powers but Wren for some reason…gained them? Wren is an orphan and is even unsure of how old he is although appearance wise he seems close to Altus so most assume he should be roughly around Altus’s age

Orion Altus Vael

The father and head of the Vael family. Being the ruler of Vornath, he needs to make sure any and all political opponents are swiftly crushed and order and fear restored. Now you may ask “order? Why restore order? He’s a sin so shouldn’t he be causing the opposite?”. The 7 sins powers actually work a bit differently in reality 918. Their powers are directly tied to people who fear them and their status in Vornath meaning the 7 sins can’t just eradicate everyone. The 7 sins never wanted to destroy the world. With the exception of a few, humanity and the survival of living creatures if anything are actually necessary to them. They need things to feel prideful, wrathful, lustful, gluttonous, envious, and greedful.

Varius Valdris

The head of the Valdris family. Despite being the sin of wrath, where he deviates from the past head is his cunning attitude hence why Orion deems house Valdris an actual threat now. With a scar on his right chest due to a battle with Orion at God’s Eye, he developed a special…hatred specifically for the house Vael. (God’s Eye is a special place where storms are always present and is believed to be the birth place for the sins)

God’s Eye

The supposed birthplace of all 7 sins with stormy weather, jagged terrain, massive sink holes, acidic pools, fiery lakes of lava and gas from nearby geysers that can knock out the strongest of warriors and even cause hallucinations.

This is also the main goal of the story, where after Altus discovers he can’t use his powers anymore, he decides to head to God’s Eye where he thinks he can find answers as to why his powers are gone and went to Wren instead
This is also the place where Altus will unlock his own powers and become a sin
But heres the thing: at every point in time, there can only be 7 sins specifically coordinated with the 7 deadly sins of pride, wrath, lust, greed, gluttony, envy, and sloth. So Altus can’t become a sin until one of them is defeated…right?
Well what altus does here is, ironically, defy fate and break the rules; the very requirement to become a sin in the first place
Altus will become his own sin; the 8th sin of despair with the ability to control storms and lightning (since storms are kinda like light and shadow fused together; the clouds for the shadow and lightning for light)
But all of this happens towards the end of the story of course

Himawari

She is the servant librarian for house Envidus and is actually a demon-human hybrid. She became a librarian here due to her demon blood as house Envidus famously is fascinated by demons as demons possess powerful magic and knowledge. Shy and rather quiet, her white hair due to the lack of sunlight in the dark labyrinth, had earned her the name of “the library ghost”.
Even though she is part human, she actually is treated ok by house Envidus. It is generally noted that out of all the 7 sins, house envidus is the least dangerous (in terms of sins) to serve in with usually just organizing the library and cleaning.
